SERIES OVERVIEW
There were over 1400 allegations of police officer misconduct throughout 2022 and 2023. Of the 972 officers referred to misconduct proceedings in that time, 99% of them were charged with misconduct or worse.

ABOUT THE WRITER
Stephen grew up in the countryside of Somerset where he had a very stereotypical 1980s comprehensive school education before running away from home to the bright lights of London in his early twenties to study Fashion Illustration. A thirty year career in design saw him produce work for Sony PlayStation, Umbro, BT/EE and the BBC (amongst others) before he pivoted for a few years into motorcyle journalism.
After starting screenwriting in earnest during lockdown, he was shortlisted for the All3Media/Edinburgh TV Festival’s ‘New Writers Collective’ for his ‘Reparations’ drama in 2023, before also being shortlisted for the BBC Open Call in 2024 with his follow-up script ‘Caravan’. During this process he was chosen to be a member of BBC Voices London for 2025.

Stephen describes his writing as being heavily influenced by his working class roots, and grounded tales of family and legacy.
